Mac apps there are many hundreds of apps but which ones have severely overhyped garbage and which ones are useful I made 1 blog and some of you asked me do I use all of these Best apps for MacBook, so in this blog, I will tell you 7 best apps for MacBook. so without wasting time let’s start.
Table of Contents
Pastebot
First up is Pastebot. This is a clipboard manager that lives in the menu bar of your Mac. And every time you copy something to your clipboard, it saves it up here. All of your past clippings can save up to 1000 clippings and have other options like filtering over a certain file size. You can enable iCloud to sync across your Macs. You can set keyboard shortcuts so you can quickly paste your last 10 clippings.
And you can also blacklist certain maps like a key chain or one password. So your sensitive data is never saved in Pastebot.
Hazel
this little broom icon is here in the menu bar. Hazel runs in the background, and you can create rules for moving files back and forth. One of my favorite features of Hazel is when you delete an app that wasn’t installed via the Mac App Store, you can choose to enable app sweep and even multi-user sweep. It will find all of those files in your Mac library, in the application support, and we’ll make sure to remove every file associated with that app.
For instance, maybe I want to create a rule that every time I take a screenshot, those images are moved to this folder called screenshots. I’ll add a folder for Hazel to watch. Here, I’m going to have it watching my desktop, and then I’ll create a new rule. I’ll have two parts to this rule: it contains “screenshot,” and the other rule is the file extension is .png.
If both rules are met, I want Hazel to move the file to the folder that I’ve now called screenshots. I’ll save this rule, and now, anytime I take a screenshot, you see, I just took a screenshot. It appears down here at the bottom, right? You can see it gets saved to my desktop, and Hazel just moved it to my screenshots folder because it followed both of those rules. The word “screenshot” is in the file name, and it ends in .png.
Screens 5
this is both a utility on the Mac Screens Connect and an app on my iPhone, and that is Screens Connect. Once you install this utility on your Mac and you set it up, you might have to have some custom settings depending on your network or router.
But once it’s installed on your Mac, I can have the Screens app on my iPhone or my iPad and then remote into any of my Macs, whether I’m at home on the network or remotely, then I can control my Mac right here from my phone. There are lots of VNC apps out there, but I’ve been using Screens Connect for a long time.
TextExpander
which is text TextExpander I use text expander for a lot of things one of the most recent use cases is for quick chat GPT prompts so let’s say I transcribe one of my videos copy it to my clipboard then I have a text expander snippet. I do semicolon GPT for video GPT, and it automatically pastes my prompt asking for a YouTube title, description, and tags.
And then if I had the entire transcript on my clipboard already, it’ll put that automatically after the prompt with a quick text expander snippet. I have a bunch of these I use in chat GPT to quickly generate ideas, titles, descriptions, and a bunch of things.
Transloader
Transloader is one of the best apps for MacBook. I run it on my iPhone and have it installed on all my Macs in the menu bar. The app allows me to take any link, even from the share sheet, like on YouTube. Simply go to More, and you’ll find Transloader as an option.
Once I tap the app, I can send the link to any of my Macs, such as my Mac Studio. Upon navigating to the Transloader app, it sends the link to my Mac. Depending on the link type, you can set up rules, like specific app actions for certain file extensions, or even run a shortcut based on the link or file sent to your Mac.
I Wallpaper
I Wallpaper Engine is one of the most transformative the Best apps for MacBook when it comes to making your MacBook uniquely yours. You can have animated backgrounds on your normally boring Mac desktop. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of free wallpapers for you to pick from, and many of them are animated. Whether it’s anime, nature, tech, cityscapes, or pretty much anything you can think of, you’ll find a variety of options. Plus, they don’t consume many resources because you can disable the animation when the desktop is unfocused.
It’s an instant dopamine hit every time I start up my Mac now. With a plethora of wallpapers, just two clicks away, I can change things up whenever I want. It’s super easy.
Sleeve
If you’re a music lover, you’re going to love this one: Sleeve Docks. It seamlessly docks a beautiful music player right onto your desktop that you can integrate with Apple Music, Spotify, or Last FM. There are several different themes that you can choose from, but you can customize just about every part of it. You can gaze at the album artwork or adjust its size and corner radius. You can also change the interface’s aspects, such as the text sizes, font styles, music controls, and backgrounds with shadows and clarity. Dial in your preferences to achieve a visually stunning appearance.
Moreover, the player can float above full-screen Windows or briefly pop up during track changes, ensuring seamless transitions between songs. If you encounter something undesirable, be cautious of the price difference when purchasing through the App Store. It’s advisable to opt for a direct download from the website for a potential discount.
so these are the Best apps for MacBook.
